Job Description:  

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Head of Finance and will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modeling. This role will have responsibility, along with the Head of Finance, for maintaining the periodic reporting package. This position will also require close collaboration with the rest of the Finance team to support the daily operations of the business and the monthly close process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with senior team leaders to understand their team expenses, analyze trends and highlight variances to improve forecast accuracy 

  • Create and refine detailed financial models for forecasting and analyzing revenue and expenses to fully understand sources of variance and, ultimately, improve forecast accuracy 

  • Partner with AP Manager to reconcile and summarize variances between forecasted and actual expenditures each month 

  • Partner with Billing Manager to refine our revenue model and enable us to communicate sources of variance and the downstream impacts to our financial reports  

  • Work with teammates to improve processes for efficiency while ensuring accuracy 

  • Partner with Head of Finance to prepare monthly reporting package for our Board and Management Committee 

  • Monitor cash balances alongside forecasted expenses and propose recommendations for reallocation in partnership with the VP, Accounting Manager 

  • From time to time will be expected to participate in executing broader team processes in order to support building the inputs of FP&A reports 

  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders to prepare management reports that aid in decision-making during annual business planning process, follow up with analysis to summarize key decisions made 

  • Establish and maintain operational KPIs and collaborate with leaders to provide ROI and ad hoc analysis to support decision-making 

  • Develop relationships, establish trust, and gain a deep understanding of relevant drivers by embedding yourself with business partners throughout the organization 

  • Finance transformation lead with touchpoints to technology and other finance team members 

  • Will be primarily responsible for leading the team build out and implementation of Sage Planning 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • 5+ years FP&A, Accounting or Finance Experience preferably in asset management 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence with proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization 

  • Proven ability to work within, automate and transform processes, complex data sets, and exhibits strong capabilities with Microsoft Office, especially Excel 

  • Experience with QuickBooks or Sage Intacct preferred, but not required 

  • Team player who is a self-motivated leader, with proven ability to support others  

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines 

Education Requirement: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CFA or Masters degree a plus

In addition to the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus program, the salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience, licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other business and organizational needs. 

 

Base Salary Range: 

 

$120,000 - $170,000                                                                              

 

Annual Performance Bonus:
