Job Description 

The Investment Team seeks an individual to join as a research analyst focused on securitized products with dedicated sector coverage. The team currently manages approximately $20 billion in Securitized assets. The research analyst will work closely with the broader securitized team including traders and portfolio managers on recommending securitized investment opportunities for our full suite of products and portfolios.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Provide dedicated coverage in specific asset class of the ABS sector with ability to expand over time
  • Assist and work closely with securitized research analysts and provide support to senior securitized research analysts through new issue reviews, issuer due diligence meetings, surveillance reports and presentations
  • Vet new securitized investment ideas alongside senior research analysts and the director of securitized research
  • Identify securitized investment opportunities via new issue and secondary markets with goal of keeping portfolios fully invested in our best ideas
  • Model cashflow scenarios at the deal level using Bloomberg and other third-party, cashflow modeling software and/or proprietary excel spreadsheets
  • Maintain and create content for IR+M’s Research Management System (RMS) to ensure bond and deal-level opinions are up to date in a timely manner

Key Competencies

  • 7-10 years of financial industry experience with 3-5 years in a securitized research capacity
  • Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences
  • Flexibility to juggle multiple priorities and projects for different end users
  • Ability to work and communicate with other areas of the Firm
  •  Critical thinker and proactive problem solver
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Enjoys working collaboratively 
  • Self-starter – ability to be productive and suggest logical solutions
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail 
  • Intex, Bloomberg and/or SQL skills a plus

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CFA/MBA or willingness to work towards

In addition to the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus program, the salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience, licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other business and organizational needs. 

 

Base Salary Range: 

 

$140,000- $185,000                                                                               

 

Annual Performance Bonus: 

 

This role is eligible for an annual performance- based bonus  

 

Location:

 

This role is based in Boston and onsite 4x a week
