Job Description: 

We seek an individual to join the 5-person Portfolio Accounting Team as a Senior Associate. This position will report to the Portfolio Accounting Manager. Portfolio Operations is responsible for day-to-day functions related to Corporate Actions, Account Onboarding (Mandate Change & In-kind Transfer), IR+M Private Funds, and Cash flows.  Our team liaises daily with the Investment Team, Client Service, Investor Services, and key external entities, including custodian banks, brokers, and service-providers.        

 Responsibilities:

     Ensure accurate account activity for all IR+M accounts and products (including cash flows, corporate actions, transfers of securities-in-kind, mandate changes, account-level or security level restrictions, IR+M Commingled Funds, etc.) into SimCorp 

     Support the Portfolio Analyst/Trade Operations team in identifying security and cash dispersion of like portfolios 

     Prepare and respond to ad-hoc/monthly/quarterly reporting and accounting-related requests

     Assist with training and onboarding of new associates

     Work with internal Account Services Team for client onboarding and any account changes

     Work directly with other internal Operations groups to ensure that the accounting records as reflected in SimCorp are 100% accurate; work to resolve any breaks or differences

     Problem-solve for non-routine events and appropriately elevate issues as needed  

     Answer questions and serve as a resource for the team with daily work and any problems/exceptions to routine operating procedures

     Communicate with Portfolio Accounting Manager to elevate issues, problems, suggest workflow improvements and provide feedback as requested

     Work on other projects as needed

     Our 8-hour shifts can vary between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with schedules subject to change at any time based on operational needs. This does not mean that employees are expected to work during that entire time, but they may need to be available depending on business needs and volume.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

     3-5 years of experience in fixed income or a related industry

     Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operations group and manage multiple priorities

     Knowledge of fixed income securities

     Knowledge of cash management and processing

     Knowledge of account reconciliation processes

     Knowledge of Corporate Actions (mandatory and voluntary) and processing is a plus

     Curiosity to learn – growth mindset

     Self-starter – results oriented approach

     Excellent written and oral communication skills

     Demonstrated technical skills, Excel, Power BI, Python, etc.

     Experience with Bloomberg, SharePoint, and/or SimCorp preferred

     Prior experience at an Investment Management shop preferred

 

Education Requirement:

·       Bachelor’s Degree required

·       CFA / Progress towards CFA a plus

 

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000

This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus
